چکیده

Swedish has two main types of action nominal constructions (ANCs), either compounding or phrasal (incorporating nominal, in Koptjevskaja-Tamm 1993), which contain deverbal nouns -ande -(n)ing, along with dependent elements. This study investigates ANCs use, based on a limited data set from COVID-19 corpus. It adopts lexeme-based approach, where (simplex nominals), whether including ‑(n)ing, are morphological constructs and verb lexeme, specified for list arguments an event structure. The focusses questions: to what extent do the suffixes occur versus ANCs, by means verbal base expressed ANCs. 328 (type) show that predominate over combined -(n)ing is much more frequent than -ande. As expression arguments, equally often modifier (similar NN-compounding) Arg2/internal argument, whereas express Arg2. Arg1/external argument tends be as preposed genitive one out ten cases both Within account, we can speak gradual transition constructions, typically primary compounds (noun-noun) less (such ANCs), syntactic ANCs). In conclusion, suggests preferred option contemporary suffixes, particular those bordering NN-compounding. Given occur, albeit different extents, competition between patterns remains unresolved.
